Spotify Snap package can be easily installed in any Linux distribution that supports Snap. Ubuntu 18.04, 17.10 and 16.04 users can download and install the app directly from the Software Center. If Snap is not installed on your system, you can type the following command. Scaling works great in Windows and MacOS. It's time to bring that same great feel in spotify over to the linux world! Right now, if one has a high-density display (read, high PPI) then the text becomes unreadable in the spotify application. I happen to be using ubuntu 16.04 Desktop; however, I'm s. Which means now Spotify can be easily installed in any Linux distribution that supports Snap. Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04 users can install Spotify directly from the Software Center where the Snap package is available.

Hashes for spotify-cli-linux-1.6.0.tar.gz
The WINHTTP.dll file is still not found upon installing Spotify.. See image below:
I'm usung Debian stretch. A message about this I received:
----- The only thing I can see that *might* cause a problem is that you are installing Wine 1.7.35. Granted, this is the version that is in Stretch, but it is a very old version. Perhaps try installing it from Stretch Backports, then reinstall Wine, and see if that helps. Also, Spotify appears to be problematic with Wine outright.
To install from backports, first add backports to your repos.
How to get spotify offline. # dpkg --add-architecture i386
# echo 'deb http://deb.debian.org/debian stretch-backports main' | tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/stretch-backports.list # apt update Spotify App For Mac
Then install (or in this case, re-install) Wine
# apt install
wine/stretch-backports wine32/stretch-backports wine64/stretch-backports libwine/stretch-backports libwine:i386/stretch-backports fonts-wine/stretch-backports
This will install Wine 3.0.3 from backports, and should give improved
compatibility. ------ So, I did all that and then I tried once again to get Spotify to install without errors, but It still can't find the .dll file. Comments are closed.
